Education and Early Life
Anthony Petrello is the current President of Nabors Industries Limited; a company based in Hamilton, Bermuda since 1991. From the year 2012, he started serving as its Chief Executive Officer, a position he holds to date. He also serves as the company’s Chairman of the Board of Directors. He had previously served at the position of Chief Operating Officer at Nabors Industries since 1991 until October 2011.
Before joining Nabors Industries Limited, he was working at Baker and McKenzie law firm, where he was a Managing Partner of the company’s New York office from the year 1986 to 1991. He is a holder of a law degree from Harvard Law School and two degrees in mathematics from the Yale University. Even though his degrees could have set him up to specific paths, he chose to follow his heart and decided to join in the oil industry.

Many have hailed him for his technical and management abilities. These abilities have helped the company to a strategic position over its competitors. The company in recent years has expanded and now operates in Africa, Far East, Middle East and the United States thanks to Petrello who is the company’s driving force behind the success. Nabors Industries has a massive workforce of over 30,000 workers and the number keeps growing each year.
He has been praised for forward-thinking, which is a major reason why Nabors Industries Limited started in 1968 as Anglo Energy Limited. It is now one of the world’s largest natural gas and geothermal drilling contractor. His never say die spirit and his encouragement to his employees has also played a major role in the company’s growth. He also praises the dedicated, hard-working employees and encourages them to push even further.
Anthony Petrello involved in philanthropies
He creates time from his many responsibilities as the head of Nabors Industries for philanthropies. He is passionate about helping children who suffer from neurological disorders. This has also motivated him to take a sit on the Board of Trustees of Texas Children Hospital. He also serves as the advocate for these children, to ensure that they have access to resources so as they can be able to fight for survival. He has also gone further to donate more than $7 million to the Texas Children’s Hospital so as they can continue to provide care for these children and improve its standards.
He also sends donations to educational institutions, including $150,000 he donated to Yale University. He believes in investing in the world’s future through funding and standing by education. He is also an active member of the Yale University alumni who hopes to provide opportunities for others to excel the same as he did through education.
